Overview
The Harbor Real Return Fund is subadvised by Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) . The Fund invests primarily in inflation-indexed bonds of varying maturities and issued by the U.S. government, non-U.S. governments, their agencies or instrumentalities, and corporations. Inflation-indexed bonds are fixed income securities that are structured to protect investors against inflation. "Real return" equals total return less the estimated cost of inflation, which is typically measured by the change in an official inflation measure.

The Fund may invest up to 30% of its assets in securities denominated in foreign currencies, and may invest beyond this limit in U.S. dollar denominated securities of foreign issuers. The Fund may also invest up to 10% of its total assets in securities of issuers based in developing countries with emerging markets.

Performance data shown represents past performance, which is no guarantee of future results. Current performance may be higher or lower than the past performance data shown. Investment returns and the value of an investment will fluctuate, and an investor's shares, when sold, may be worth more or less than their original cost. You can obtain performance data current to the most recent month-end (available within seven business days after the most recent month-end) by calling 800-422-1050 or visiting www.harborfunds.com.

The Harbor Funds performance shown assumes the reinvestment of dividend and capital gain distributions and is net of management fees and expenses. Returns for periods less than one year are not annualized.

From time to time, certain fees and/or expenses have been voluntarily or contractually waived or reimbursed, which has resulted in higher returns. Without these waivers or reimbursements, the returns would have been lower. Voluntary waivers or reimbursements may be applied or discontinued at any time without notice. Only the Board of Trustees may modify or terminate contractual fee waivers or expense reimbursements.

The Barclays U.S. TIPS Index is an unmanaged market index comprised of all U.S. Treasury Inflation Protected Securities rated investment grade (Baa3 or better), have at least one year to final maturity, and at least $250 million par amount outstanding.  This unmanaged index does not reflect fees and expenses and is not available for direct investment.

Real Return Fund was rated 4-star among 193 and 4-star among 151 domestic Inflation-Protected Bond funds for the three- and five-year periods ended 08/31/2014, respectively. For each fund with at least a three-year history, Morningstar calculates a Morningstar Rating™ based on a Morningstar risk-adjusted return measure that accounts for variations in a fund's monthly performance (including the effects of sales charges, loads, and redemption fees), placing more emphasis on downward variations and rewarding consistent performance. The top 10% of funds in each category receive 5 stars, the next 22.5% receive 4 stars, the next 35% receive 3 stars, the next 22.5% receive 2 stars and the bottom 10% receive 1 star. The Overall Morningstar Rating for a fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and ten-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating metrics.
