




The Harbor Real Return Fund is subadvised by Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) . The Fund invests primarily in inflation-indexed bonds of varying maturities and issued by the U.S. government, non-U.S. governments, their agencies or instrumentalities, and corporations. Inflation-indexed bonds are fixed income securities that are structured to protect investors against inflation. "Real return" equals total return less the estimated cost of inflation, which is typically measured by the change in an official inflation measure.
The Fund may invest up to 30% of its assets in securities denominated in foreign currencies, and may invest beyond this limit in U.S. dollar denominated securities of foreign issuers. The Fund may also invest up to 10% of its total assets in securities of issuers based in developing countries with emerging markets.

Real Return Fund was rated 4-star among 156 and 4-star among 139 domestic Inflation-Protected Bond funds for the three- and five-year periods ended 12/31/2011, respectively. The Morningstar Rating is for the Administrative share class only; other classes may have different performance characteristics.
For each fund with at least a three-year history, Morningstar calculates a Morningstar Rating™ based on a Morningstar risk-adjusted return measure that accounts for variations in a fund's monthly performance (including the effects of sales charges, loads, and redemption fees), placing more emphasis on downward variations and rewarding consistent performance. The top 10% of funds in each category receive 5 stars, the next 22.5% receive 4 stars, the next 35% receive 3 stars, the next 22.5% receive 2 stars and the bottom 10% receive 1 star. The Overall Morningstar Rating for a fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and ten-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating metrics.
