Harbor accounts safe from the "Heartbleed" bug
April 17, 2014

You may have heard about a newly identified internet security issue called "Heartbleed", which has left some websites vulnerable to attackers. Immediately upon learning of this issue, Harbor carefully reviewed all of our systems. We can confirm that our websites are not now, and never have been, vulnerable to this bug.

Even though Harbor's websites are not affected, if you use the same password on other websites that are vulnerable, you could still be at risk. That's why it's always a good practice to use different passwords for different accounts, and to change your passwords periodically -- especially for banking or investing sites, or any site where your private, personal information is being stored. If you have used the same password for your Harbor account on other sites that may be vulnerable, it would be a good idea to change your Harbor password as a precaution. To change your password now, simply login to your account, and click the My Account Profile tab.
